Good evening Year 13 and a happy bank holiday to you all. There are some pretty important reminders and messages in this bulletin so if you know that some of your friends are unlikely to read this, please pass on the important messages. Your tutors will also be reinforcing some of these messages in our next round of phone calls in two weeks. 1. Leaver's Ball and Mass I have managed to book a new date for the Leaver's Ball πŸ•Ί which is now  Wednesday 9th September.   The plan is for you to have your Leaver's Mass during the day followed by the Ball in the evening so please keep the whole day free. N.B. If this date can not go ahead due to restrictions still being in place, then the back up plan is to hold the Mass and Ball on Thursday 17th December, when you're home for the Holidays. Again, please keep this date free, just in case. 2. Student Finance The deadline to apply to Student Finance is two week's tomorrow on Friday 22nd May . Even if you don’t know wha

Also, just a reminder that if you are struggling during this period of lockdown, we are still very much here for you I'm sure some of you have seen Mrs Baumgart's assembly on the Theme of the Week: Companionship already, but if you haven't yet, you can watch it here: PSHE Bulletin 04/05/20: Bereavement The Big Question Why is it so hard to talk about death? Hopefully you will have heard from your tutor this week and either you, or one of your parents has given an update on what you've all been up to and how you're coping.  Just a reminder, that if you are struggling, you do not need to wait for this phone call to let us know. Please do feel free to email me or your tutor at any time if you are having a hard time. We are still very much here for you! I know that some of you feel a bit lost at the moment and so, here are a few things you can be getting on with to make sure that you are fully prepared for University or the world of work. Morning Year 13, Thanks again for those of you who are updating me with what you've been up to over the past few weeks. Please keep sending me emails. As I said before, I love hearing from you. Leaver's Ball update I can confirm that the Leaver's Ball will not be happening on Thursday 18th June 😞. However, I am currently talking to the venue to reorganise the event to a date later in the year and will keep you posted on this as soon as I have confirmation. It is most likely to be in December when you are back home from University or are on your Christmas holidays from work. Theme of the Week PSHE Bulletin 27/04/20: Coping Skills by Mr Hunt The Big Question Can we learn to cope better with the problems life throws at us? Prayer of the Day Lord, you know this life is both beautiful and brutal, often both at the same time. When problems come our way, help us to see them as small steps in the journey of our life, not unclimbable barriers. Amen

Your A Levels Mr Gower has written to you regarding the upcoming generation of centre assessment grades. You can read his letter here. 2. Student finance If you are going to University this year, it is important that, if you have not already done so, you apply online for student finance ASAP. It does not matter if you are not 100% on where you are going or if you change your mind later on as you are able to make changes online.  It is very straight forward to apply and you can do so here. If you would like more information or have any questions then please feel free to email me or Mrs Elmer (selmer@salesian.surrey.sch.uk).  There is also a free webinar being run by the University of Kent on 13th May on the finance system, how to apply, and what you'll be expected to pay back. This is also a great oppo
